Bounded action

An external action constrained by explicit target, permission, approval, monitoring, rollback, and stop limits.

Definition

An external action constrained by explicit target, permission, approval, monitoring, rollback, and stop limits.

Practical test

Are target, permission, payload, approval, monitoring, rollback, and stop behavior all constrained outside the model?

Example

Updating two allow-listed CRM fields after an exact approved preview is bounded; “manage this account” with broad credentials is not.

What to record

For bounded action to be operational rather than a reassuring label, record the allow-list, validated payload, approval binding, execution result, rollback, and stop conditions. If those facts cannot be observed or tested, do not treat the term itself as evidence that the workflow is safe.
